Mizuno running sneakers are highly respected in the sport. You can be rest assured that you're running in an excellent product built by a company with over one hundred years of history under its belt. Their shoes are always earning awards from all sorts of running publications, such as Runner's World and Running Times. Many of the professional runners and triathletes that I meet prefer Mizuno. While running in Mizunos, you'll find that they have a distinguishable "kick." They have special wave-like plates that help accelerate the foot through the transition from heel to toe. They also have a firmer, more responsive midsole foam. Because of this, Mizuno is also more durable than most brands so you could put in plenty of miles before they break down. Mizunos have a more defined arch built in their sneakers that contours well with the bottom of most feet. They have a narrower than average fit, but their uppers are made out of a lot of lightweight mesh that conforms to the feet. All of these features make the shoe feel like an extension of the foot. I really like the support of their stability and motion control shoes, especially in the Alchemy, Nirvana, and Renegade. They give some of the best support in their respective shoe categories. The Inspire is an awesome lightweight trainer that yields optimal performance for moderate over pronators. If you have pronation issues, then Mizuno is a great brand to help correct them. A helpful tip: If you are light to medium weight, stick with their standard shoes. Only get their "advanced" shoes if you are heavy. This is because they're advanced shoes are really bulked up to take the impact of heavier people. The extra cushion and support is really unnecessary for the average person. However, while talking to Mizuno runners who are heavier, they often say that the high end shoes feel soft, or lightweight, or comfortable. On the other hand, their standard shoes are extremely light but still provide a good amount of cushioning and stability for the average runner. To help you get the right Mizuno sneaker, I've categorized them below. Whenever possible, I add the following notations where appropriate to help you get your ideal fit.
